I have chosen Kakuno as my first fountain pen after doing some research and I am loving it! Smooth as butter! Would love to try fine and extra fine nibs also.

Has every other affordable pen beat

Fell in love with this pen immediately. The section is comfortable to hold and the pen is lightweight. Since it's transparent, you can see the ink sloshing around inside, which is great in the middle of boring lectures. :) And as you would expect from a Pilot nib, it writes exceptionally smoothly like butter even on less-than-ideal refill paper.

Only complaint would be the woeful ink capacity of the CON-40, but I'll see if I can get my hands on the bigger CON-70 converter soon.

    Great little pen
    By Oldbadgerbeard
This is my third Kakuno, am yet to choose an ink to put in it, but with the clear barrel am looking forward to something a little different. For fountain pen snobs, this pen may not be to their liking, but it is typical Japanese quality with some quirk and lovely to write with. Thanks SmoothPens, I will be shopping with you again
